Ask an Expert: Logel’s Q & A

1) How important are snow tires?
Some people may think that because the winter season isn’t very long that they will make do with their summer tires. Wrong.
Snow tires are very important and here’s why:
  • They give you confidence when driving on ice, snow or slush
  • They have better grip (made with a different rubber compound that grips the road better)
  • Maximized AWD (all wheel drive) performance
    • Snow tires make it easier to stop sooner
  • The tread pattern on the tire is able to grip down into the snow better, giving you more controlled traction and handling on the roads
Cars are safer and perform better when all four tires match so if you are going to buy snow tires make sure to invest in all four and not just two!
2) I saw a part in your inventory online, how long before I can get it?
Right away! Give us a call and we will make sure the part gets to you as soon as possible.
3) Will you come pick up my car?
Yes. When filling out the form for selling your car, make sure to check off the field where it says a pick up is required!
4) What is the difference between new aftermarket and new OEM parts?
  • OEM parts tend to be more expensive than “aftermarket” parts
  • OEM parts are made by the car manufacturer whereas aftermarket parts are produced by a different company than the car’s manufacturer
  • Similar to that, if you take your car to the dealership for repair you will most likely get OEM parts but an independent mechanic will often use a variety of used, OEM, and aftermarket parts
  • Aftermarket parts offer a variety of quality and price levels
5) Why should I use recycled parts?
We suggest checking for recycled parts before buying new because they’re good for the environment, your car, and your wallet.
  • Anything recycled is better for the environment since it means a new part doesn’t need to be manufactured. This means less pollution, smoke and dirt in the air from manufacturing new parts, as well as less time and effort put into making them.
  • Recycled parts are also good for your car since it is the original OEM part that is specific for your vehicle so you know it is the perfect fit and will give you maximized performance.
  • Lastly, you’re saving money! You are getting the original part for a fraction of the price. Now that’s a deal!
