Tire Tackback for Sunshine Foundation
Each year, members of the Ontario Auto Recyclers Association (OARA) come together to host the annual Tire Tack Back event. As a member of OARA, Logel’s is proud to be part of this yearly campaign to raise money for the Sunshine Foundation.
What is the Sunshine Foundation?
The Sunshine Foundation is a Canadian charitable organization dedicated to helping children with severe physical disabilities and life-threatening illnesses have their dreams come true. The Sunshine Foundation brightens the lives of all the children they work with by helping them fulfil their most cherished dreams, whether it be meeting their favourite celebrity, going on a vacation, or receiving a much needed piece of adaptive equipment. For all the joy they’ve brought to children’s lives, it’s no surprise that they have become known as “dream-makers”.
How does OARA Help?
Each year, members of OARA get together to organize a Tire Tack Back event. At this event, anyone in the community is invited to drop off their used tires at designated locations. When tires are dropped off, the recycling fees the locations normally collect from the Ontario Tire Stewardship (OTS) for collecting these tires will be donated to the Sunshine Foundation.
Since 2010, OARA and its members have raised over $500,000 to support the Sunshine Foundation of Canada. Stay tuned for details on next year’s Tire Take Back event!
