What is Powder Coating?
Powder coating is a process used for the painting of metal surfaces, especially in the automotive industry. In powder coating, a dry powder or paint film is applied electrostatically to a prepared metal surface and then cured using heat or UV light to melt the finish.
The powder coating process results in a smooth, durable finish, as opposed to conventional painting methods that use liquid coatings. The metal must be prepared beforehand by sandblasting it and/or using a chemical treatment to ensure the surface does not have any imperfections.
