Preparing to Recycle Your Car

 In Uncategorized

Planning on recycling your car? If you answered yes, there are a few things to do before you bring your car to the auto recycling facility. Below we have listed three ways to prepare your car to be recycled.

Remove Personal Items – Valuable items can get lost in your car. Protect yourself and your items by checking every area of your car for items that could get left behind. Some places to keep in mind are under floor mats, under and between seats, the glove compartment, trunk, and small corners inside your car.

Remove License Plates – Your license plate is registered to your name, and is not useful to other people. It will save you time and money in the future by removing and keeping your license plate when you get rid of a car. If you purchase a new car, it’s easier to register your vehicle if you already have a license plate.

Remove Garbage – Removing garbage may reveal personal belongings that you don’t want to give away with your car, such as letter heads with your address, pay stubs, or hidden items. It also allows the mechanic at the recycling facility get right to work, and gives them more time to do what they do best.

Follow these three steps and have your car ready to be recycled. Dropping off a tidy car ensures that you have everything you need out of it. We find lots of items and do our best to return them; but we don’t find everything and it might be something you’ll miss!
