Summer may be almost over, but there’s still lots of time to get out and experience some of the best festivals that Ontario has to offer. Whether you’re looking for culture, food, music, family fun or a little bit of everything, pack up the car and head out to some of these great end-of-summer festivals.
Fergus Scottish Festival
Where: Fergus, Ontario

If you’ve ever wanted to visit Scotland but haven’t had the chance – or if you just want to celebrate your own Scottish roots – the Fergus Scottish Festival is the event for you! Featuring Celtic music, highland dancing, caber tossing competitions and dozens of other activities, it’s a unique, family-friendly festival with lots to see and do.
Canadian National Exhibition (CNE)
Where: Toronto, Ontario
When: August 18 – September 4, 2017
The CNE is an annual, 18-day fair popularly known as “The Ex.” Whatever your interests, there’s likely something for you to see here. Events include animal shows, music, incredible food, gaming, casinos, sports, parades and dozens of other activities and celebrations. There are also plenty of shopping vendors and amusement rides to round out your visit, whether you visit for a day or the whole 18 days!
Creemore Springs Copper Kettle Festival

What better way to end the summer than with a celebration of beer? This one-day festival is a celebration of the town of Creemore and its nationally-recognized beer, Creemore Springs. The celebration includes a farmers’ market, beer garden, food, kids’ activities, live music and so much more.
