  • Very inexpensive to fill tires.
  • Easy to find places to fill your tires wherever you go.
  • Monitoring your tire pressure closely to ensure optimal fill will provide the same savings provided by nitrogen.
  • Adjusts to air temperature, so tires deflate when the weather cools.

  • Over time, air will migrate through tires, causing a loss in air pressure.

  • Air is combustible in the event of a fire.
  • Nitrogen doesn’t adjust to air temperature, so you don’t have to worry about changes in tire pressure in cool weather.

  • Less likely to migrate through tires, so you don’t have to constantly monitor pressure.

  • Not combustible in the event of a fire.
  • It can be expensive to fill tires with nitrogen.
  • Less available than normal air (i.e. you can’t just go to a gas station to find it).
  • If you can’t find nitrogen and have to put in air, you are losing the benefits that you paid to have.
