Tips to Keep Your Car Shining in the Sun

 In Uncategorized

We don’t know about you, but we’re excited for summer! This winter was harsh and we just can’t wait to feel the warmth of the sun again. Unfortunately, your car might not feel the same. Just like people, if cars are out in the sun unprotected for too long they suffer from the powerful UV rays. We have some ways you can make sure your car shines all summer long.

Use a visor. It prevents the dash from becoming warped, faded, or cracked. When the car is parked you can also use a windshield sun protector. This is foldable but opens to cover the entire windshield. It protects the car from sun damage, and will also keep the car a little cooler.

There are lots of products available that are designed to help protect the upholstery and dashboard. Visit a store that has an automotive section and ask for advice or choose the product that best fits your needs.

Avoid rust by applying an undercoating to your car. This product helps repel moisture from your car so that rust doesn’t get the chance to form. Rusting happens more as the temperature outside increases, so now is the perfect time to get an undercoating that will keep your car rust free this summer.

Get waxed! Wax adds an extra layer of protection to your car.

If you can afford it, consider tinting the windows. The tints are like sunglasses for the car and helps keep it safe from the sun!

When possible, park in the shade. You don’t have to worry about sun damage if there isn’t any sun, so try keeping your car where the sun doesn’t reach. Try to keep it in a garage at your home (if you have one) or under a shaded area in a public parking lot.

Pollutants from the air can damage cars if it’s left to sit for too long. Wash your car regularly to get these harmful particles off! After washing, dry the car as well to keep moisture away that can cause rust or other damage.

Keep the seats in good condition by putting seat covers on them. Seat covers are replaceable and will keep the upholstery underneath better for longer.

The heat and sun can be rough on all of us. Follow these suggestions and your car will be shining bright this summer. Is there anything that you do to keep your car shining that we didn’t mention on this list? Let us know in the comments!
